Description
Nos 55 and 57 Woodend is a farmhouse dating from the 15th and 17th centuries, featuring a hall and cross-wing plan. The building is two storeys at the front and one storey with attics at the rear, which has an outshut. It is constructed with a timber frame and thatched roofing, while the main 17th-century range has brick gable walls, and the rear of the cross-wing has parapet gables that are partially colour-washed. The cross-wing has an end stack, and there is a central stack with reduced diagonal and polygonal shafts. The doorway aligns with the main stack. On the ground floor, there are two hung sash windows with glazing bars set in segmental arches. The first floor features three hung sash windows with glazing bars, along with one gabled dormer that includes a horizontal sliding sash window with glazing bars.
