Description

Lloyd Bridge is a bridge that carries Oughtrington Lane over the Bridgewater Canal, built around 1770 by James Brindley. It is constructed of old red brick and features a deep segmental arch made of brick, resting on stone springers and supported by a stone band. The bridge has battered curved abutments and plain stone copings on its brick parapets. There is a plate on the east side of the bridge that reads: "Lloyd Bridge. Named after a family who served the Bridgewater Canal Company for more than 200 years. 1963."
