Description
Greenall Whitley's Wilderspool Brewery, located at the corner of Greenall's Avenue, is a Victorian brewery built from red and blue brick, featuring a stone band and stone cornice. The building has two storeys and includes some upper triangular oriel windows supported by brackets. The lower windows are almost square and contain 42 panes. A round angle tower is present, which has round-arched windows and a clock face, topped with a cornice that features crenellations. The tower is capped with an octagonal concave pinnacle adorned with an elaborate windvane, along with ventilators that have curved pediments. This brewery, along with the Saracen's Head Public House, stables at the rear, and No 383, forms a group with Nos 3 to 9 (odd) China Lane.
