Description
Firtree House is a farmhouse from the late 18th century that has undergone some alterations and minor additions. The building features an irregular bond of brown brick, with a stone plinth, rusticated quoins, and keystone window heads made of plaster. It has a grey slate roof with flush gable chimneys and stands three storeys tall with three windows. The lower two storeys have recessed 16-pane sash windows, while the third storey has 8-pane sash windows; there is a blocked central opening on the third storey that is painted to resemble a window. The entrance has a mid-20th century glazed door set within an original open-pediment Doric case, topped by a wooden looped radial-bar fanlight. The windows in the end walls feature gauged brick arch heads. Additionally, there is a 19th-century extension at the rear.
