Description

The fountain located in the western part of the gardens at Palmyra Square is a small structure made entirely of iron. It features four slender fluted columns that support open round arches, which are cusped and moulded, adorned with decorated spandrels and topped with an open decorative domed roof. A relief medallion of Queen Victoria is present, accompanied by the motto "Keep the Pavement Dry." Below the canopy, there is a round iron basin resting on the columns. This fountain is part of a group of listed buildings in Palmyra Square, which includes Nos 9 to 21 (odd), the Museum and Art Gallery on Bold Street, No 10 on Egypt Street, Nos 3 to 13 (odd) on Springfield Street, and Nos 13 and 15 on Suez Street.
