Description

Belgrave Farm Farmhouse is a farmhouse with a core likely dating from the 18th century, but it underwent significant alterations around 1820. The building is constructed of brick and features grey slate gabled roofs. It is a two-storey, four-window T-shaped house with two brick chimneys on the main ridge and two on the rear ridge, which are not symmetrically placed. A projecting porch with a slate roof has lead rolls at the hips. Each side of the house has three-sided bays; the left bay has a pentice, while the right bay has hipped slate roofs. The bays and the three-light bedroom windows are fitted with cast iron casements that have Gothick heads. A window on the lower storey to the left has been replaced with a four-light small-pane timber casement. The front entrance features a six-panel door, with the upper panels glazed and a vertical reed design in the center. There is also a six-panel door in the rear wing to the right, which has a small Gothick-headed cast iron casement above it. Inside, there is one 18th-century five-panel door, and the front parlour on the right has two chamfered oak beams. The floor in the rear bedroom is made of 10-inch boards.
