Description
Mill Hill House is a house built in 1894 by Douglas & Fordham for the 1st Duke of Westminster. It is constructed of stone-dressed red brick with blue diapering and has a grey slate roof with red terracotta ridge tiles. The house is symmetrical, featuring two storeys and three bays. It has shaped projecting chimneys on the end gables, which terminate in two spiral-moulded brick flues. The front has three shaped half-dormers, with the left and right ones projecting. There is a central porch with a shaped gable, a round arched entrance, and a datestone that reads 'W.1894'. The windows have iron casements, although the leaded glazing has been removed, and they are set in sandstone mullions. The entrance includes a glazed nine-panel door with moulded stiles, muntins, and rails, along with a matching glazed screen. Inside, there are four-panel doors with moulded stiles and rails, but other interior features have not been inspected.
