Description
Hill Farm Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in 1843 for the 2nd Marquis of Westminster. It features squared red sandstone rubble walls and two graded grey slate parallel roofs with gables at the ends. The building is two stories high with a four-window front. The lower storey on the left has wood casement windows, which are likely replacements, while the upper storey also has altered windows. There were originally four red brick chimneys with diagonal flues on sandstone plinths, but one is missing. The gables have weathered sandstone parapets with shaped kneelers. To the left of the center, there is a projecting gabled porch that has a door on the left side and a window on the front. The front door consists of six flush panels. The interior has not been inspected. This farmhouse, along with the farm buildings, represents a slightly altered example of the new farmsteads established as part of the agricultural improvements by the 2nd Marquis.
