Description
Middle Beachin Farmhouse is a farmhouse from the early 17th century, encased in brick, likely from the late 18th century, with various alterations made over time. It is built from local irregular red-brown brick in English garden wall bond and features grey slate gabled roofs. The structure has a double-pile design with a two-storey front that includes three windows and a three-storey rear. There is a right wing, probably from the late 18th century, that projects forward. The entrance porch, likely from the early 19th century, features a late 18th-century doorcase with a key-pattern cornice on consoles beneath a gabled roof. The windows are small-pane replacements with three lights. A gable chimney is located at the front of the right wing, and there are two chimneys on each ridge; the right chimney on the front ridge, dating from the 17th century, has an inglenook fireplace behind the lobby entrance. Inside, the front part of the farmhouse contains several chamfered oak beams typical of the early 17th century, some of which are stopped, along with small framing that exposes some wattle-and-daub on the internal walls. There are also several five-panel doors in the late Georgian style and one two-panel door, as well as some H-hinges.
