Description
Well House Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse constructed with a timber frame and rendered infill, featuring a baffle-entry plan and two storeys. The entrance front displays 14 by 3 cells of small framing set on a rendered stone plinth, with angle braces on the sides. There is a central doorway topped by a gabled 19th-century porch. Flanking the doorway are 19th-century two-light casement windows, and above, the first floor has swept two-light dormers along with a central ridge chimney stack. To the left, there is a brick addition painted to resemble timber framing. The rear of the house has 9 by 3 cells of small framing with angle braces at the center, a 19th and 20th-century block on the right, and a projecting wing to the left that includes 19th and 20th-century windows. Inside, the parlour features an inglenook fireplace and chamfered ceiling beams, while the dining room contains a 12-panel cut-down door and a bread oven accessible from under the staircase built into the side of the hearth.
