Description
Dodleston Hall is a farmhouse built in 1793, which has been altered over time. It is constructed of brown brick, with headers every sixth course, and features stone quoins and keystones above the windows on the lower two storeys. The gabled roof is covered with grey slate and has chimneys at the end gables. The entrance is highlighted by stone rustications on the archivolt and jambs, along with a radial bar fan and a keystone that has carved ornamentation and the date. The door consists of six flush panels. The windows have been renewed but are in keeping with the original style.
Inside, there is a late Georgian plain staircase that has been repaired, and one door with six fielded panels remains on the first floor. The main and secondary beams are present on the first floor above the parlour on the right. Notably, the house is situated on the site of a moat, which is scheduled as an ancient monument.
