Description
The former central farm building associated with Moor End Farm is a late 19th-century shippon and cartshed. It is constructed from brown brick with a timber-framed central gable that faces the back of the farmhouse, all set beneath a hipped red tile roof. The building has a symmetrical design, possibly influenced by French architecture, and is almost square in shape. The cartshed features a segmental brick arch supported by sandstone corbel blocks and faces the farmhouse. Above the cartshed is a hayloft with a central loading door, topped by a jettied timber-framed gable. On each side and at the rear, there are tyings for cattle beneath the broad hipped roof. The boarded doors and small-pane iron casements, all set under sandstone lintels, are symmetrically arranged.
