Description
The Lodge to Broxton Old Hall is a building constructed in 1873 by John Douglas. It features an oak frame with plaster panels set on a high, partly rendered brick plinth, topped by a gabled stone-slate roof with a distinctive shaped central chimney. The lodge is designed in a Jacobethan style and is cross-shaped, consisting of one storey. It includes canted bay windows beneath bracketted gables on the front and right side. In the right corner, there is a gabled porch that houses an arched, part-glazed door. The windows are oak mullioned and fitted with leaded glazing. The projecting gables are ornately framed, showcasing decorative bargeboards and finials, with the year "E1873" displayed on the right gable facing the drive.
