House (incorporating former Barnhill Cottage), late Georgian with long wing to right - probably early C20 - which was formerly a separate dwelling, Barnhill Cottage. Only the Georgian part is described. Brick on sandstone plinth, all painted white, with hipped grey slate roof with 2 brick chimneys, symmetrically placed. 2½ storeys, 3 windows. Ionic portico with flat entablature contains door with 4 raised and fielded panels. A 2-storey canted bay of brick to each side contains 3-light sashes, the centre lights of 12 panes and the side lights of 6. A gabled dormer above each bay contains a 12-pane 2-light casement. Above the portico is a 12-pane recessed sash to the second storey and a fixed light of 12 small panes to the third storey. The right wing, in keeping, has no features of interest. Interior: Straight stair with square newels and 2 turned balusters per step. Two wide doors of 2 great panels survive downstairs.
