Description

The Halfway House Milestone is a milestone dating from 1761, made of red Bunter sandstone. It is a substantial slab of stone standing one metre high, inscribed with "1761 the halfway house from Chester to Whitchurch 10 miles EACH." The inscription was re-cut around 1987.
