Description
Glebe Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was refronted in the early 19th century and extended to the left on the upper storey in the mid-20th century. It is constructed of painted brick with a clay tile roof. Originally, it was an oak-framed lobby-entrance cottage consisting of three cells and one and a half storeys. The entrance door has been moved, likely in the 19th century, and there are small wood casements with four and six panes, typical of 19th-century vernacular style. The door is part-glazed and framed with boarding. The roof is lower over the right bay and features a sprocketed dormer. There are two ridge chimneys, with the one on the right being massive and located behind the former entrance position. Inside, the lower storey has chamfered oak beams, and the right bedrooms have rough oak purlins. The cottage is included for its group value.
