Description
The walls to the sunken paths in the churchyard, located south of the church, date from the 18th century or earlier and have been repaired at various times. They are constructed of coursed red sandstone. Inscribed stones on the walls commemorate building or repairs, including a tablet with an ornate top opposite the porch that reads "Richard Robinson; James Mottershead: Churchwardens 1722." On the north-west side of the path to the south-west gate, there are inscriptions for John Down (?) and John Davies (?) as Church Wardens. South-east of the porch, another inscription notes Richard Mullock and Chas. Cheers Caldecott as Church Wardens in 1874. The walls also feature piers from the former south gateway to the churchyard, which are now blocked.
