Description
A cottage, likely dating from the early 18th century, is constructed of brick with a grey slate roof. The property is two storeys high, with a cellar and attic, and features a single window. The front door has been altered and is boarded, set within a substantial frame. Windows are cross casements, and those on the ground floor have flat, gauged brick arch heads. A cellar hatch is visible on the front elevation. A decorative band runs along the first floor. A gable chimney is situated on the left-hand side, and four steps lead to the front door. The cellar is partly cut from bedrock and partly brick-lined, featuring a barrel vault made of brick and stillage. Inside, the cellar doors are made of broad oak boards, fitted with early 18th-century wrought iron strap hinges and latches. A winder staircase rises in a half-circle to the upper storey, and then curves in a quadrant to the loft. Internal walls are oak-framed, largely concealed, and there are chamfered oak purlins.
