Description

Dodleston Lane Farm Principal Farm Building is a J-shaped farm structure built in 1890 by Douglas and Fordham for the 1st Duke of Westminster. The building features shippons with hay lofts above, a granary barn, and a cartshed. It is constructed of red brick with blue diapering and has half-timbered gables topped with red tile roofs. The hayloft includes vents with complex patterns in the brickwork, and there are boarded rectangular loading doors leading to the lofts. Although the window openings to the shippons have been altered, they remain in keeping with the overall design.
