Description

5 The Mount is a cottage, likely originally a stable, with features that date from the late 19th century, associated with Rowland Egerton Warburton. The building is constructed of brown brick and has a clay tile roof. The door and most windows on the west side and south end, facing The Mount, have been replaced with smaller openings. The north gable, which faces High Street, remains largely unchanged and features a 6-light wood-mullioned window on the lower storey and two 2-pane wood casements in the attic. The gable is adorned with bargeboards and has a plinthed, shaped brick chimney. The east wing showcases oak-framed gables typical of the Arley estate style. This cottage is included for its group value.
