Description

Iddenshall Hall is an early 18th-century farmhouse constructed of English bond orange brick with washed stone dressings, topped by a Welsh slate roof and featuring two gable brick chimneys. The building is three stories high with a symmetrical seven-bay front. It has a blue brick plinth, flush stone quoins, and plain bands at the first and second floors, along with a coved and dentilated cornice. The tall two-light wooden casements have flat gauged brick heads, with three on either side of a central doorway on the ground floor, four on the first floor, and three in the top storey. The central entrance features a six-panelled door in a moulded surround with fielded panelled reveals and a gabled hood. There are brick bands on the sides and rear of the building. To the left, there is a two-storey, three-bay 19th-century addition.

Inside, the entry leads into a hall with exposed ceiling beams. At the rear, there is an oak well staircase with a chamfered handrail, square newels, and bulbous turned balusters. Part of the hall and stairwell features 17th-century wainscotting, while the remainder is from Portal Tarporley. The interior also includes six-panelled doors with panelled reveals. A room to the left has an inglenook fireplace, while the end room to the right features a Neo-Classical fireplace.
