Description

This is a town house, likely dating from around 1780, that has been altered over time and is now used as an office. It is constructed of brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a grey slate roof. The front of the building has a painted stone plinth with a vent leading to the cellar, and three steps leading up to a replaced five-panel door. The door is within a simplified doorcase with a radial-bar fanlight above. There are two replaced recessed sash windows on each of the three storeys, all with painted stone sills and wedge lintels. A cast-iron rainwater pipe runs down the exterior, and a chimney is located on the west ridge.

At the rear, a wing extends westward, featuring a large, replaced 48-pane sash window in a round-arched opening on its west side. A later 20th-century outshut is attached to the east. The rear of the main block has a replaced small-pane tripartite window to the first storey, a flush 12-pane sash (with the lower leaf’s bars removed) to the second storey, and a replaced flush four-pane sash to the third storey.

The interior has largely been renewed, but with replacement features intended to match the original style. A basket archway leads to the staircase, and there is an arched alcove in the rear room of the first storey. The front room on the second storey has a swag frieze of plasterwork, while the rear room has a panelled window embrasure. The cellar contains stone steps, partly brick barrel-vaulted ceilings, and a sandstone party wall shared with the adjacent building at No. 92 Street.
