Description
Number 92 Street is a town house, now used as offices, dating from around 1780 and has been altered over time. It features brown Flemish bond brickwork and a grey slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall, slightly lower than its neighbours. A painted stone plinth includes a barred opening to the cellar. There is a recessed porch on the east side with two steps leading up to a five-panel door, which has a glazed top panel and a cast-iron radial-bar fanlight above it. The timber casing of the porch is damaged at the bottom and features roses at the corners of the architrave and a moulded hood.
Each storey has two windows; the first storey has replaced recessed three-pane sashes, the second storey has replaced two-pane sashes, and the third storey has flush unequal sashes with two rows of two panes in the lower leaves and one row of four panes in the upper leaf. A modillion cornice runs along the top, and there is a chimney on the west ridge. The brickwork continues with Number 1 Stanley Street.
At the rear, there is a projecting stairwell that features a tall 18-pane sash window on the east side and a 12-pane sash window on each storey. Behind the stairwell, there is a small monopitch outshut. Inside, the first storey front room contains a door with five fielded panels, panelled embrasures, and cupboards with fluted friezes beside a blocked chimney breast, along with a small cornice. Stone steps lead down to the cellar, which has parts with brick barrel-vaulted ceilings and a sandstone party wall adjoining Number 94 Street. The stair leading to the second and third storeys is covered. The second storey has doors with five fielded panels, panelled embrasures, and a plaster cornice. The third storey could not be inspected.
