Description
Claremont is a house built around 1840. It features orange brick in Flemish bond with yellow headers and has a hipped Welsh slate roof along with two brick chimneys. The building has a double-pile plan and a symmetrical two-storey front with three bays. The end bays contain semi-circular headed sash windows with glazing bars, set in a slight recess, and have cast iron baskets with palmettes on the sills. Above these, there are 12-pane sashes with flat gauged and rubbed brick heads. The central bay is slightly set back and includes a prominent stone doorcase with plain pilasters and a flat hood, which is accessed by three stone steps.
