Description

Stoak Bridge, built around 1795, is a bridge over the Shropshire Union (Ellesmere) Canal. It follows the canal company's standard design for minor road bridges. The bridge is constructed of brown brick with an English bond pattern. It features an arch that is slightly more than a semi-ellipse and has a two-course plain brick band at road level. The parapet has a plain near-flush sandstone coping, and the abutments show a marked batter. The bridge accommodates foot traffic and farm vehicles.
