Description

Mason's Bridge is a bridge built around 1795, located over the Shropshire Union (Ellesmere) Canal. It follows the canal company's standard design for minor road bridges. The structure is made of brown brick laid in English bond, featuring an arch that is slightly more than a semi-ellipse. At road level, there is a two-course plain brick band. The parapet is topped with plain near-flush sandstone coping, and the abutments show a marked batter. The bridge carries a cart track.
