Description
Yew Tree Farmhouse is a 17th-century, two-storey farmhouse located off Stanney Lane. It features a cement-rendered exterior and a red tile roof. The building's age is highlighted by a large chimney stack at the gable end and string courses at the first floor and window head levels. There is a projecting porch with a ledged and battened door that is hung on original decorative band hinges, while later flush casements are present in the windows.
Inside, the farmhouse includes an oak ridge tree and purlins, bevelled beams, and exposed oak floor joists. One room has oak floorboards. A Jacobean staircase with flat balusters and ledged and battened internal doors hung on band hinges adds to the interior's character.
