Description

Meadow Lane Bridge, built around 1795, spans the Shropshire Union (Ellesmere) Canal. It follows the canal company's standard design for minor road bridges. The bridge is constructed of brown brick with an English bond pattern. It features an arch that is slightly more than a semi-ellipse and has a two-course plain brick band at road level. The parapet is topped with plain near-flush sandstone coping, and the abutments display a noticeable batter.
