Description

Dutton Lodge Farmhouse, now divided into two dwellings, dates to circa 1700, with a significant late 19th-century extension and a Vernacular Revival style recasing. The right wing, facing the road, is the oldest part of the building, constructed with a mix of brick and oak small framing, the latter likely largely replaced. A sandstone plinth is visible in part. The house extends two and three storeys in height. The interior retains notable original features including a dogleg oak staircase with winders, square newels, and two heavy turned balusters per step. A lower-storey corridor features moulded timber archways characteristic of the late Georgian period. Other visible features include painted chamfered beams, some 2-panelled oak doors, and chamfered oak purlins.
