Description
The National Westminster Bank and the house adjoining to the south, formerly known as Black and White Cottage, is a building located in Tattenhall, dating back to the 17th century with 20th-century alterations. It was originally a farmhouse and is constructed with a timber frame and brick nogging set on a stone plinth. The building features a Welsh slate roof and has two brick ridge chimneys. It has a rectangular plan with a crosswing at the left end and is 1½ stories tall with a five-bay front. The windows are 20th-century casements with glazing bars, and there is a large window at the right end for the bank. The building includes two 20th-century doors, one of which has a trelliswork porch. The crosswing has shaped barge boards and two gabled dormers. The right gable displays a full collar and tiebeam truss with passing braces.
