Description

The icehouse located 35 meters east of Hefferston Grange dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of orange brick and is situated within an earth-covered mound. Although the entrance has been lost, the circular domed chamber made of header bond brick remains intact, featuring a more pointed base. The doorway leading into the chamber still exists and includes a loose metal ladder, which may be original.
