Description

This milepost, located 30 metres south of the junction with Ormonde Road, dates from around 1900 and is made of cast iron. It features a plinthed, tapered octagonal post that supports a shaped cast-iron plate. The plate is inscribed in raised capitals with the words "CHESTER CROSS: 1 MILE". Similar mileposts were installed by Chester City Council on other main access roads leading to Chester.
