Description
The churchyard wall and gate piers to the Church of St Thomas of Canterbury, located on Parkgate Road in Chester, were built in the late 19th century. The wall is constructed from squared snecked sandstone and retains the churchyard, which is over 1 metre above street level. It features roughly rounded flush coping-stones. The square ashlar gate piers have tooled raised panels on the sides and faces, topped with two-stage pyramidal caps. The wall extends southwest along Cheyney Road and includes additional gate piers and gates at the corner.
