Description

This milepost, located 80 meters north of the junction with Abbot's Park, dates from around 1900 and is made of cast iron. It features a plinthed tapered octagonal design and has a shaped cast-iron plate that is inscribed in raised capitals with the words "CHESTER CROSS: 1 MILE." Similar mileposts were installed by Chester City Council along other main roads leading to Chester.
