Description

Foden Bank Cottage is a house dating from around 1800. It has a roughcast render over brick and a stone-flagged roof. The building is two storeys high and features a five-window range. It may have been constructed in two phases, as indicated by the position of two axial stacks that mark the limit of the original structure. To the left, there is a single-window range that is likely a later addition. The doorway is located to the left of centre in the main range on the right, and it is set within a lattice-work porch. The door has eight fielded octagonal panels. The windows throughout the cottage are 12-pane sashes, with shallow segmentally-arched heads on the ground floor. There is also a lower, two-storey, two-window range wing that adjoins to the left, which may have once been occupied separately. The cottage features both axial and end wall stacks.
