Description

The pair of houses at 2 and 4 King Street date to approximately the 1820s and 1830s. They are built of brick, with a stucco finish to the front, and have a shallow slate roof. The houses are double-pile, with plans for one and two units respectively. The two-storey facade has a three-window arrangement. Number 2 is the width of a single unit with a doorway on the right side, while Number 4 has a central doorway. Both entrances are accessed by steps, leading to six-panelled doors, one of which is likely a replacement, set within reeded doorcases. The windows are sash windows with 12 panes on the upper floor and 9 panes on the ground floor. A single chimney stack is located on the party wall. The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
