Description
5 and 7 Hightown is an early to mid-19th century property built of red brick. It is three storeys high and originally had three sash windows with plain lintels. Two windows are now blocked on the left-hand side of the first and second storeys. Number 5 has a mid-19th century doorway with a semi-circular brick head, keyblock, and a six-panelled door. It also features moulded stucco eaves and a slate roof, now covered with felt. Later 19th century and modern shop fronts have been added, and the left-hand side now features a plain bay with a doorway and ledged door. The building possesses group value from its contribution to the streetscape.
