Description

The drinking fountain, built in 1897, is a Grade II listed structure designed by architect Thomas Bower, who also designed the Town Hall. It is made of stone and has a circular plan. The base features a central basin with four projecting stoups, surrounded by a ring of eight Tuscan columns. These columns support a shaped canopy that includes a triglyph frieze, shaped gablets, and a ball-headed shaped pinnacle.
