Description
Reaseheath Old Hall is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, with earlier origins and later alterations. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and has a slate roof. The building has three storeys and five bays, with a rear wing that completes an 'L' shaped plan. The central bay is set forward and features a stone gable pediment. There is a sandstone plinth, and the entrance consists of a six-panel door flanked by plain wing lights with stone sills, all topped by a wood pediment. The windows are 2-to-4-light 20th-century metal casements with glazing bars, set in wood frames with stone sills and stone wedge lintels. A three-light lunette is located at the second floor level. The eaves are adorned with a brick dentil course, and there are symmetrically placed stacks with blue brick caps. The gables feature barge boards.
Inside, the rear wing has bevelled beams and exposed joists, along with wide boarded ledge and battened doors on HL hinges and strap hinges. There are six-panel doors on the ground and first floors, and a plain oak staircase with square newels and balusters.
