Description
Lee Green Hall is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a roof covered with large slates. The building has two storeys and five bays. Originally designed in a "T" plan, it was modified to an "H" plan with the addition of a late 19th-century wing on the east side. The entrance includes a six-panel door, with the top panels glazed, set within a hipped lean-to porch supported by a single oak post. The windows are primarily old flush casements, many with glazing bars, set beneath flat cambered arches. There is also a built-up window opening at first floor level. The original oak wallplate, showing mortices and trenail holes, is visible at the eaves. The rear gable of the 19th-century wing is made of very small bricks in an Elizabethan style, and the gables feature barge boards. Inside, one room has large ovolo moulded and bevelled beams along with heavy section joists, and there are wide-boarded doors throughout.
