Description

Ashbrook Bridge is a road bridge over Ash Brook, rebuilt in 1775, as indicated by the datestone that reads "Rebuilt By I M Anno Dom MDCCLXXV". The bridge is constructed of red sandstone ashlar and features a single span with slightly projecting retaining walls that are canted forward. It has a segmental arch made of voussoirs. Above the arch, there is a central datestone set in a sunken panel. The parapet is topped with projecting chamfered coping stones, and the bridge has square end piers with pyramidal caps.
