Description

A pair of gatepiers dating circa 1696, constructed from ashlar. They stand on projecting plinths which bear oval, convex plaques surrounded by a ring. The plinths have a moulded top. The piers themselves feature chamfered rustication. They are topped with cyma moulded caps, each supporting a pyramidal top decorated with foliate relief; the gatepier on the left now supports a 19th-century cast iron lamp bracket.
