Description
Pyegreave Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse situated off Broad Carr Road in Sutton C.P. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and a stone slate roof. It has two storeys. The front of the farmhouse has stone quoins to the corners and a decorative band. It is two bays wide. The windows are four-light, chamfered mullioned windows, with stone lintels and sills, though the first-floor window on the left is a 20th-century wooden replacement. A plank door is centrally positioned on the ground floor. A late 18th or early 19th century extension is situated to the left, using larger rubble stones with quoins, and has three-light windows to both the ground and first floors. The right-hand return side has two 19th-century wooden replacement windows on the gable end. A recessed wing extends to the right, featuring 2-light windows and a 3-light, stone-chamfered mullioned mezzanine window to the left, with a matching 2-light window above. The rear of the farmhouse has a gabled wing on the left with two blocked 2-light ground floor windows and a 3-light first-floor window, all with chamfered stone mullions. A 20th-century brick outshut is situated to the right of the rear wing, with a door. To the right of the outshut is a projecting, two-storey gabled wing with a blank gable end.
