Description

This pair of gate piers, dating from the early 17th century, is constructed of ashlar stone. They are tall and square in shape, featuring moulded cornices and carved bases designed to hold finials. Each pier has engaged pilasters on the front and rear faces, complete with pedestals and capitals. The capitals are adorned with egg and dart ornamentation and crude Ionic volutes.
