Description

Canal bridge number 21, built around 1830 by William Crosley for the Macclesfield Canal Company, is a Grade II listed structure. It is constructed from hammer-dressed buff sandstone and features a horseshoe elliptical arch with chamfered coping at road level. The bridge has a plain parapet with rounded coping that ends in square pilasters. This bridge is a standard design for the canal, with seven complete examples located in Adlington.
