Description

The parish boundary stone, dating from the 18th century, is made of ashlar sandstone and is shaped as a rectangular block with a curved top, standing on end. It features a boldly cut, serifed letter "S" for Shrigley on the south face and a "B" for Bollington on the north face. Additionally, there is a later Ordnance Survey bench mark on one side. This stone is very similar to another example located on the west side of Shrigley Road. Part of this stone is situated in Bollington.
