Description

This is a parish boundary stone from the 18th century, made of ashlar sandstone. It is a rectangular block with a shaped, curved top and is currently standing on end, although it is half buried. There is a trace of a single letter inscription on the north face, along with later Ordnance Survey benchwork cut into the side. The stone is very similar to another stone located on the east side of Long Lane and likely bears the same inscription, which includes "S" for Shrigley and "B" for Bollington. Part of this stone is situated in Bollington.
