Description
The School is a building dating from around 1861, which was restored and extended in 1967. It features coursed sandstone rubble walls with buff sandstone dressings and a Kerridge stone-slate roof, complete with plain barge boards and four brick chimneys. The structure has a double pile under a parallel ridge roof and presents a symmetrical two-bay façade, with one storey above a basement. The basement has three-light mullioned windows that are topped with hood moulds. Above these, there are large sash windows with glazing bars and coloured glass borders, also set in plain surrounds and under hood moulds. The sides of the building have similar windows and a door in plain stone surrounds. This building is listed for its group value only.
