Description

The showroom premises of Messrs Arighi Bianchi, located in Macclesfield, were originally part of a silk mill and date back to 1883, with some alterations made in the 20th century, though it may have earlier origins. The building stands four storeys tall, featuring a front wall made entirely of cast iron and glass, while the side walls are blind and constructed of brick. A central splayed recessed entrance porch leads into the building, showcasing a mosaic floor and cast-iron arcading on the first and second storeys. Inside, there is a central stairwell around which the upper floors are galleried.
