Description

Thatched Cottage is a house dated 1713, as indicated on the lintel with the initials I.H.E.H. It features a timber frame with a stone plinth, whitewashed brick infill, and a thatched roof. The building consists of two cells and is two storeys high.

The entrance front has a layout of 9 by 2 cells of small framing, with one angle brace at the center. The doorway is located to the left of the center and was originally two doors; one is at the far left with an inscription carved into the lintel, and the other is to the right of the center. There is a one-light casement window to the left of the doorway and a four-light casement window to the right on the ground floor. A three-light 20th-century dormer window is present above. The cottage has two gable stacks and a 19th-century lean-to on the right side.

On the left-hand gable end, there are three by two cells of small framing with one angle brace to the left. The truss is of the queen-post type with angle struts above, and there is a 19th-century out-shut at the rear.
